PR 6.3 drops off the Rabaçal plateau in western Madeira, threading UNESCO-listed laurisilva forest and stone stairways down into the Ribeira do Alecrim ravine to Lagoa do Vento, where a waterfall spills into a dark green pool. It is barely 1.6 km each way, but the return is a relentless climb back up. Private cars cannot reach Rabaçal itself: park on the ER 105 and walk or take the shuttle van down the access road.
